
Summer Sampler Series for Middle and High School Science Teachers: Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11, 2008
Target Audience:
Middle and high school science teachers (biology, chemistry and food science).
Format:
Lectures and hands-on laboratory experiments, demonstrations and discussion sessions.

Topics: Food Chemistry, Processing, Safety, Nutrition
Approximately 20 applicants will be selected and invited to come to the beautiful Cornell campus in Ithaca, NY, to participate in the week-long workshop. In addition to free registration and program materials, participants will be provided with housing and meals for the week. The workshop will include lectures, hands-on laboratory experiments, demonstration and discussion sessions lead by Cornell Food Science faculty, graduate students, and guest lecturers. All participants will take away ideas and experiments to use in their high-school science classrooms.

Applicants will be notified by June 15th, 2008. All successful applicants will be required to complete a workshop agreement form and submit it along with a $100 deposit to hold their space (checks will not be cashed and will be returned at the conclusion of the workshop, unless participant does not show up or cancels their participation).
